Ice Hockey is a kind of collective competitive sport, which is carried out on the Ice with Ice blades
and Ice Hockey sticks as tools against each other. It is composed of two minor events of men and
women.
It is an independent winter sport in international sports taxonomy.
Ice hockey came into being later than soccer, hockey and speed skating. According to research, the
modern game of ice hockey originated in Canada. W. F. Robertson, a British student in Canada, skated
very well. He transferred the hockey he had learned during his study in England to play on ice. He
combined the characteristics of "La Crosse Ball" and created a new ice game -- ice hockey in 1783.
The important international organizations of ice hockey are the National Hockey League (NHL) and the
International Hockey Federation (IHF).
